Cristalería Encinas: Behind the glass, a History of Success and Commitment from the hand of TUROMAS.
Four decades of leadership in the glass industry, a legacy of quality, service and sustainability define Cristalería Encinas. Discover how this family-owned company has cultivated a reputation for excellence through dedication and commitment to innovation and efficiency.
At the heart of Encinas is a history of passion for glass and commitment. Founded more than four decades ago by Don Andrés Encinas Moreno, this family business has grown from its beginnings as a small wooden carpentry shop to become a benchmark in the glass industry in the southern half of the Iberian Peninsula.
Encinas prides itself not only on its product, but also on its methods. Every piece that leaves their facilities carries with it the dedication of a team of five brothers who lead different areas of the company. Their commitment to quality and service drives every aspect of their work, as they strive to optimise costs to remain competitive in the marketplace.
Cristalería ENCINAS’ collaboration with TUROMAS is fundamental to their success. Valuing trust and transparency in every interaction, the company recognises that problem solving is one of the keys that has strengthened their ties and fostered loyalty between the two corporations.
Beyond its geographical borders, Cristalería Encinas stands out for its constant pursuit of excellence. From the creation of its own Green EcoGlass® brand of double glazing to the implementation of cutting-edge technologies in its manufacturing processes, the company is committed to sustainability and innovation.
They currently have an intelligent TUROMAS LA-06-RO rotating warehouse incorporating two automatic glass sorters with a storage capacity of 1000 tonnes. They also have three TUROMAS cutting lines fed by two MAM-06 tilting tables.
TUROMAS had the privilege of sitting down with one of their representatives, David Encinas, General Manager of Cristalería Encinas. In this interview, we explore the fundamental pillars that have guided Encinas throughout its trajectory, from its humble beginnings to its current position.
We sat down with David Encinas to talk about his company, his goals and how the market is evolving in Spain.
What is Cristalería Encinas and how did it come about?
Encinas is a family business that has its roots in the passion and dedication of my father, Andrés Encinas, more than four decades ago. It began as a small business focused on glass resale, but over time we have grown and diversified our operations.
Today, we stand out in the market for our quality, service and ability to adapt to our customers’ needs. Our commitment to cost optimisation has allowed us to remain competitive in a demanding market.
As for our future, we have short, medium and long term investment plans to continue improving our facilities and processes, keeping us at the forefront of the glass industry.
At Cristalería Encinas, we carry out a wide range of manufacturing processes, ranging from polished edge to Green EcoGlass® double glazing, tempered and laminated. Our EcoGlass® brand is our flagship in terms of versatility and ability to meet the specific needs of our customers, as it can be incorporated into any product available on the world market.
How did the need for the new TUROMAS machines arise?
Our relationship with TUROMAS goes back to the 90s, when my father started the collaboration with the purchase of a small cutting table. Over the years, we have been expanding and updating our facilities always with TUROMAS equipment, such as the intelligent warehouse that we recently decided to renovate.
The decision to update the loader was due to our need to increase storage capacity and incorporate the new functionalities that these provide. We opted for TUROMAS once again due to the confidence we have in the brand and our previous experience with their products and services.
We did not have any reference of this type of equipment as ours was one of the first, but we trust the brand because it is a serious company. We knew that we were not going to have any problems and if we did, they would be solved immediately.
Why is TUROMAS the best partner for ENCINAS? What would you highlight?
Mainly, our choice is based on the long history of the company, they have been working for the glass sector for many years. At TUROMAS, communication is direct and close, from the CEO Álvaro Tomás to the assembly technician, which generates trust. When something works well, why change it?
Geographical proximity is also fundamental. In urgent situations, the response is quicker because we are in Spain. Furthermore, when comparing with other brands at trade fairs, we consider TUROMAS to offer one of the best cutting tables in terms of precision, speed and versatility.
The ability to solve problems is essential for any company. We had some problems with the loader, but the way TUROMAS handled them reflects their commitment and efficiency. This attitude demonstrates accountability and effectiveness, aligning with their approach to customer proximity and effective problem solving.
This mentality resonates with our own business philosophy. As a family business, we value customer service and problem solving. We know that true loyalty happens when you overcome obstacles together.
